Sub Kultur Para Klandestin Flanel

Grunge sudah mati? Seattle Sound telah tamat? Mungkin iya. Bisa jadi benar. Sebab di manca negara gelinjang musik yang berporos di Pacific Northwest, Amerika Serikat,—utamanya Seattle—ini terkesan melempem, layu gairah, sempoyongan lalu pingsan. Kalau pun para pembesarnya masih bergentayangan di blantika cadas raya, gaungnya tak cukup signifikan, tipis nuansa kolektif, cenderung melenggang sendirian. Boleh dibilang dari kalangan pesohor berbusana flanel cuma tinggal Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Mudhoney, dan Alice in Chains (formasi anyar) yang masih eksis. Sayangnya, umur panjang itu tak disangkutpautkan dengan pergerakan atau rejuvenasi Grunge. Sepak terjang Eddie Vedder dan Rekan dianggap nihil relevansi dengan so-called Seattle Sound

LANJUTKAN!

Kiamat mungkin memang sudah dekat.
Keadilan untuk semua bisa jadi cuma dusta, fana
Kebahagiaan abadi, surga-neraka, semata tinja

Tapi jangan pernah putus berhasrat
Harus ogah menyerah
Sebab tinggal asa, harapan, yang kita punya
Agar senyum senantiasa benderang di wajah kita

Atau Right Said Fred I’m Too Sexy, Afroman Because I Got High, Baha Men Who Let the Dogs Out, Blind Melon No Rain, Deep Blue Something Breakfast at Tiffany’s, juga yang lawas macam The Knack My Sharona, Nena 99 Luftballons, a-ha Take On Me, dan banyak lagi.

Fenomena artis yang bersinar cuma lewat satu lagu setelah itu kilapnya perlahan redup lalu sirna sama sekali, gejala macam begitu di industri musik diistilahkan dengan: One-Hit Wonder.
