This is the second portrait by Marie Natch (@natchartwork) for her upcoming exhibition at Rumah Sanur (@rumahsanur) in late March. This one, according to her, explores the notion of "meeting" with the unknown through traveling. It also suggests how you actually can meet with yourself when you face a different culture. Marie called her exhibition "Identity Through the Journey".

(Garin Nugroho / Indonesia / 2016 / Fiction / 90min) Set in Indonesia's Dutch colonial era, in 1927, a young and beautiful woman lives with her sick and aged Dutch husband. This woman loses her own name and is called Njai, which means a foreigner's concubine, and realizes that she is living in a kind of prison, while she deals with loads of visitors to her residence. Director Garin Nugroho shows in a distinctive way how much effort a woman, deserted both by the colonial country's law and the colonized country's traditional culture, puts in to retain her dignity. ⠀

Free entry A social live concert with auctions for help as much as we can the Australians wildlife victims of the Bushfire. The fires may have abated but the need hasn't. So when the Bali Roots Festival approached us about putting on an event in the backyard, we said you bet. Five of Bali's best are donating their time: @naviculamusic , @marapu_reggae , @thehydrantbali , @r.i.v.a.b.a_official , and @dunia_ketiga. Talk about the dream team, don't know about you but we are blown away by this lineup. There will be auctions all night where we will flog goods and services to generate some cash to send to those that need some help in the fire stricken parts of east Australia. From 7:00 p.m. in the evening we'll have different bands putting out their magic. It's a time when we need to get together and dig deep for those left in a crap position by these recent developments in NSW, QLD & Victoria. Besides you might be able to get that perfect something for the perfect someone while you are having the best time! The rundown of the event will be: 7.00pm - 7.45pm : Dunia Ketiga
7.45pm - 8.00pm : 1st auction
8.00pm - 8.45pm : Rivaba
8.45pm - 9.00pm : 2nd auction
9.00pm - 9.45pm : Marapu
9.45pm - 10.00pm : 3rd auction
10.00pm - 10.45pm : Navicula
10.45pm - 11.00pm : 4th and 5th auction
