This song, you can’t help but think of those relationships that you know are bad for you, but you never stop hoping it’ll all work out and be good anyway—you just want her back at any cost because it’s almost as if she couldn’t hurt you any worse than she already has.
The track is included in Ryan Adam’s debut solo studio album, Heartbreaker, released in September 2000. The album is said to be inspired by Adam’s breakup with music industry publicist Amy Lombardi.
A wonderful love/hate/weak/drunk/wishful moment composition. One of my most fave songs within the melancholy section. Ryan Adam’s amazing.
Good night, wounded hearts, broken wings, and lost fighters.
