RYAN ADAMS – COME PICK ME UP

A wonderful love/hate/weak/drunk/wishful moment composition. One of my most fave songs within the melancholy section. Ryan Adam's amazing.

This tune, you can’t help but think of those relationships that you know are bad for you, but you never stop hoping it’ll all work out and be good anyway—you just want her back at any cost because it’s almost as if she couldn’t hurt you any worse than she already has.

The song is included in Ryan Adam’s debut solo studio album, Heartbreaker, released in September 2000. The album is said to be inspired by Adam’s break-up with music industry publicist Amy Lombardi.

Good night, wounded hearts, broken wings, and lost fighters.

Rudolf Dethu

Rudolf Dethu

Music journalist, writer, radio DJ, socio-political activist, creative industry leader, and a qualified librarian, Rudolf Dethu is heavily under the influence of the punk rock philosophy. Often tagged as this country’s version of Malcolm McLaren—or as Rolling Stone Indonesia put it ‘the grand master of music propaganda’—a name based on his successes when managing Bali’s two favourite bands, Superman Is Dead and Navicula, both who have become two of the nation’s biggest rock bands.
