On this date, 41 years ago, Lene Lovich re-released “Lucky Number”. Originally released as a B-side for Lovich’s cover of “I Think We’re Alone Now”, the song was re-released on 26 January 1979 as an A-side and became the lead single of her debut studio album Stateless. “Lucky Number” became a defining song and made her a leading figure of the new wave genre.

DEPECHE MODE TO BE INDUCTED INTO ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME

Depeche Mode are to be inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020. This was DM’s third time being nominated since becoming eligible back in 2006. The band had earlier received nominations for both the 2017 and 2018 classes.

Just discovered this Singapore’s magnificent shoegaze unit, Coming Up Roses. Saw them performing at Hard Rock Cafe Singapore a few nights ago, falling in love instantly. Been listening to this song on repeat. Melancholy and atmospheric yet beautiful. Sad and gorgeous vocal style. Shoegaze at its best.
