Always been and always will: Rock. Now like to listen again to old Hole albums.

What was the first record you bought—any interesting story behind it?
With my own money? Bon Jovi’s Slippery When Wet.

What are your all-time favourite albums?
Bon Jovi’s New Jersey, all Hole, all No Doubt, all Bikini Kills’ albums, and Alanis Morissette’s Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie.

What was the worst record you ever purchased?
Cokelat with the new vocalist. Sorry. No soul at all .

Who do you want to be, other than yourself, next time you reincarnate?
Don’t believe in reincarnation…

What book are you reading now and what’s the score (1-10)?
Gadis Kretek by Ratih Kumala. Score? 11!

What new movie should people see? Why?
I’m outdated. Sorry.

What song do you choose to start your weekend?
Last weekend? “Jengah” by Pas Band.

“99 In the Shade” by Bon Jovi.

Melanie is—and has always been—super busy. She has just released her current album, Aku Kamu Mereka Kalian, being a spokesperson for not-for-profit organisations such as Kontras and Walhi, and hosting her own radio talk show. At the moment she is in the process of finishing her latest book in regards to motivational tips.
