About

Music journalist, writer, radio DJ, socio-political activist, creative industry leader, and a qualified librarian, Rudolf Dethu is heavily under the influence of the punk rock philosophy. Often tagged as this country’s version of Malcolm McLaren—or as Rolling Stone Indonesia put it ‘the grand master of music propaganda’—a name based on his successes when managing Bali’s two favourite bands, Superman Is Dead and Navicula, both who have become two of the nation’s biggest rock bands.

This big lumbering brontosaurus riff, "How Many More Times," is included in my Spotify playlist, 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘴 & 𝘔𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩 𝘙𝘪𝘧𝘧 𝘙𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴

“My dear, in the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love. In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile. In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm."

WD - Wild Drawing, the Athens-based Indonesian artist is currently having his exhibition at Rumah Sanur titled "Slaves of Objects". Come and witness these four amazing photo-realistic, thought-provoking, larger than life murals, only till 26 March 2020.
BelinCarlotti
Been listening to this dreamy chanson, "Lentement", by Bertrand Belin feat. Barbara Carlotti non-stop since yesterday yet took a serious peek at Bertrand Belin’s discography. I really love his voice—I’m easily hooked on deep, velvet fog, golden gravel, baritone male singers. I find his musical approach is cool, too: slow paced and elegant songs structure. I like his city slick look as well.
DankieManja
James first met Dankie in Sydney in 2013. James was still a teenager. He showed Dankie his demo. Seven years later, 2020, they met again, in Denpasar. This time Dankie shows James rock-n-roll survival manual.

Peter Wolf turned 74 today. He was pretty popular here in Indonesia back in the early 80s via “Centerfold”, “Freeze-Frame” and “Love Stinks” with the band he fronted, the J. Geils Band.
